 Keywords: The altar screen was made in Antwerp about 1560. It depicts the events of Easter. Original wooden church built on the site by Harold Bluetooth circa 1000. This was replaced in 11th century with a stone one built by King Canute's sister Estrid. In 1080 a new church built by Bishop Svend Nordmand was consecrated and this was replaced by the present brick structure in the 12th century. Commissioned by Bishop Absalon it is one of the earliest examples of French inspired Gothic brick Cathedrals.
